WHY?
Young photographers have never been so competent, but it is nevertheless increasingly difficult to start in this profession. Everyone is now a photographer since the quality of an image is judged by the number of likes it is likely to generate. This average "good taste" places all images on the same level, without hierarchy, and contributes to devaluing the profession of photographer.
In this context, the intention of LECTURE.PHOTO is to help photographers progress by acquiring a sense of legitimacy that they often lack.
IS IT REALLY FREE?
Yes.
Confucius (551-479 BC) said: « If it's free, you are the product". It’s true that it is the way things go today but LECTURE.PHOTO has nothing to sell and takes issue with this sentence. We think with an assumed naivety that it is possible to escape this vision of the world which requires that we are all buyers, sellers.
This site just wants to help promote photographers and their profession.
I AM A PHOTOGRAPHY STUDENT, CAN I PARTICIPATE?
No.
LECTURE.PHOTO does not want to interfere with the content and logic of a photography course. This site is intended for beginner photographers already out of school or self-taught.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE PHOTOS I SEND?
Your photos pass through LECTURE.PHOTO's secure servers from which they are downloaded to be read and analyzed. They are immediately deleted from the servers. They remain your entire property and cannot be used for other purposes, without prior agreement.
WHY A PDF? WHY NOT DISCUSS ORALLY?
The work of LECTURE.PHOTO wants to be part of a long time. Writing requires reflection, construction and allows, much more than speaking, to avoid superficial chatter.
